Palm propagation from seed Posted By: Jay J

    Hi Joe,

I've got this great Screw Palm that is currently producing seeds, and I'd like to grow some new palms from them, but I am having trouble locating information on how to get started. Unlike coconuts, they are small, about the size of a walnut, and there is a bunch of them.

Do the seeds need to be dried out before I try to germinate them? Can I just put them in some moist sandy soil as they fall off the tree? Know of any websites where I might find help?

Maybe I should attend Screw U to learn more about them.

    ;)
