Creating original outdoor or indoor planted steel sculpture for businesses, resorts and fine homes globally is what I do. All hand made one at a time, without repetitive robotic cutting machines. I want my topiary animal frames and sculpture to have life and movement.
Plant Materials vary according to what does best in your neighborhood. Boxwood, Yew, Privet, Azalea there is something out there that will not fail ya...Have fun with horticulture, enjoy gardening -plants are good for you. Megalarge chess sets -entirely topiary, artificial or real, wild twig creatures on which we can deal. Unicorns here are very very real.
You will notice that some of the pieces do not even have plants. Horses look great as a steel sculpture, while somebody like Big Bird has over 300 pounds of discarded nautical rope for feathers that was gathered from the beaches of Negril, Jamaica and dreadlocked together by my 4 Rhastafarian friends. There are no two Topiary Joe sculptures alike. This is Testudo, University of Marylands' 12' long Mascot Terrapin Turtle. He is being planted within this sculpture with pyracantha, a searing reminder to college revelers...stay off my back!
